Job Overview

We are expanding our talented team with an experienced Electrical Technician who has practical PLC experience. You will evaluate, assemble, test, maintain, and improve electrical systems used in test equipment and products manufactured on site.

The successful candidate will be able to read electrical system design plans, recommend practical improvements, calibrate instruments, and diagnose faulty equipment. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in safe, clean, well-documented work and enjoys collaborating with engineers and technicians to bring complex hardware to life.

How You Will Contribute

Your work will span electrical assembly, PLC controls, test-equipment support, troubleshooting, calibration, fabrication, and materials coordination.

Electrical Assembly, Test & Maintenance

• Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, control panels, and related systems.
• Build and modify cable assemblies, harnesses, connectors, enclosures, fixtures, panels, and electrical subassemblies to drawings and specifications.
• Perform soldering, continuity checks, insulation checks, fault testing, inspection, and functional verification of electrical and electronic hardware.
• Support the electrical integration, bring-up, and validation of prototype, laboratory, and early production equipment manufactured on site.
• Maintain high standards for workmanship, wiring quality, labeling, cleanliness, traceability, and documentation.

PLC Integration & Controls

• Integrate, configure, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based controls used in test equipment and manufacturing systems.
• Connect and verify PLC I/O, sensors, relays, contactors, interlocks, actuators, safety devices, and communication interfaces.
• Support installation, commissioning, modification, and maintenance of electronic and electrical control systems.
• Work with engineering to recommend practical improvements to electrical design, control logic, reliability, serviceability, and safety.

Troubleshooting, Repair & Calibration

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and document malfunctioning electrical equipment, appliances, instruments, wiring, controls, and apparatus.
• Use electrical test equipment and structured fault-isolation methods to identify root cause across power, wiring, controls, sensors, components, and interfaces.
• Calibrate, verify, and maintain instruments and measurement channels used for engineering and manufacturing tests.
• Document failures, repairs, calibration results, configuration changes, and lessons learned to improve repeatability and future builds.

Drawings, Fabrication & Materials

• Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, schematics, wiring drawings, layouts, and equipment specifications.
• Construct and fabricate parts and test hardware using hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, specifications, and safe work practices.
• Order and track electrical supplies, components, instruments, tools, equipment, and consumables required for active projects.
• Maintain organized, clearly labeled, and production-ready electrical work areas, test stations, tools, spare parts, and inventory.

Electrical Technician Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience as an Electrical Technician or in a closely related hands-on electrical role.
• Hands-on experience with PLC integration, programming, I/O, controls, and troubleshooting.
• Experience assembling, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical or electronic equipment and systems.
• Experience using hand and power tools, soldering equipment, electrical test equipment, and fault-testing methods.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, circuit drawings, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, wiring documentation, and specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn unfamiliar equipment, processes, and technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to approach faults safely, logically, and methodically.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, changing priorities, and concurrent builds while maintaining attention to quality and detail.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with others.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including clear documentation of work performed and issues identified.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude, dependable work habits, and a strong work ethic.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Nice to Haves

• Some college, trade-school, apprenticeship, or technical coursework in electrical, electronic, controls, instrumentation, or industrial technology.
• Experience supporting a manufacturing, NPI, prototype, pilot-production, or high-mix engineering environment.
• Experience with instrument calibration, data-acquisition systems, sensors, control panels, industrial wiring, or automated test equipment.
• Familiarity with temperature, pressure, vibration, flow, voltage, current, power, or other physical measurements.
• Experience with engines, generators, HVAC, energy systems, thermal equipment, or other complex electromechanical hardware.

Compensation & Featured Benefits

This is a salaried position with an annual base salary range of $70,000–$80,000 USD for Strongsville, OH location. Bay Area compensation will be adjusted accordingly to cost of living. The role is not eligible for an annual incentive. Final compensation will reflect the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and work location, as permitted by applicable law.
